Mei Du Spring is a high-tech enterprise that integrates research and development, production, sales, and installation. With many years of industry experience and a seasoned engineering team, we are professionals in manufacturing and installing sports wood floors. Leave the professional work to us, Mei Du Spring. The on-site construction of sports floors requires high standards, so today we at Mei Du Spring are here to educate and share some installation knowledge with you.

Construction Conditions

  1. The civil engineering must be completed and cleaned before wood floor construction, and the quality of the ground construction must meet the design requirements of the architectural drawings.
  2. Indoor installation of water, electricity, steam ventilation, etc., must be finished, especially the water network pipes must undergo pressure testing to confirm that they meet the design requirements and do not affect the wooden ground during normal use.
  3. Indoor decoration projects such as ceilings, ultrasound, sound, and lighting must be completed to avoid affecting the wooden floor construction during cross-construction.
  4. The ground moisture or balanced moisture content should be basically consistent with the outside world.
  5. If cross-construction with other types of work is required, permission from the owner should be obtained for unified arrangements.

Construction Preparation

  1. Construction tools and instruments: Theodolite, level, woodworking machine, handheld electric planer, handheld high-speed cutting saw, polishing machine, nail gun, air compressor, hand尺, 3-meter straightedge (common tools for construction woodworking).
  2. Materials and supplies: All necessary materials before construction must be delivered to the location designated by the owner and stored properly according to product performance requirements, with storage capacity meeting construction progress.
  3. Inspection of construction conditions: Check whether the construction conditions are met, make a record of matters that do not meet the construction requirements, and the owner should order the relevant departments to solve them within a time limit, clarifying responsibilities, especially for water, fire, theft, etc.
  4. Preparation of construction schedule, on-site management, and other systems: a. Prepare the construction schedule: Develop the construction schedule based on the plan, and submit it to the contracting unit and the supervision team for review and filing. b. Establish construction teams: Divide into woodworking, painting, and general labor teams. Conduct technical briefings and determine team responsibilities.
  5. Other items: Strengthen technical and fire prevention education, especially compliance with the systems of other units on-site.

Marking the Position Lines for Joists and Cushions

Draw the position lines for the main joists and cushions according to the drawings, with special marks at the cushions at every 3 meters from the center of the site to the surroundings.

Inspecting the Site

Use a level to measure the height error of the cement ground at the benchmark points, and make a record at the same time. Mark the height values on the cement ground at the benchmark points.

Installing Shock-absorbing Rubber Pads

Install 10mm thick cushion blocks at the benchmark points, with the height error on top of the benchmark cushion blocks not exceeding -1mm. Use plywood to level out any errors and then use a level to calibrate.

Installing Other Wooden Cushions

Use an aluminum alloy straightedge longer than 3 meters (or a level line) to span two benchmark cushion blocks horizontally and vertically. Then, place other cushion blocks under the aluminum alloy straightedge according to the marked positions, leveling them to the same height as the benchmark cushion blocks, and leveling as above.

Installing Joists

Place the 4×5cm (other sizes can be selected) pine joists on the rubber pads according to the lines, and use 50# steel nails (other models can be selected) to nail the shock-absorbing rubber pads, leveling cushion blocks, and joists firmly. Use a 3-meter straightedge to level the joists across the entire venue, with an error of 3 meters straightedge -2mm. Coat all sides of the joists with fireproof material (for double-layer joists arranged in a well shape, place the pads between the two layers of joists and fix with 50# steel nails (other models can be selected), with a joist spacing of 400mm).

Installing the Rough Floor

Lay the multi-layer solid wood rough floor staggered on the main joists and secure with 60mm round nails at an angle.

Laying the Moisture Barrier

Lay the moisture barrier under the rough floor without folding.

Laying the Surface Floor

Use special floor nails to lay the surface floor at a 45-degree angle on the rough floor, ensuring that the joints are staggered and aligned longitudinally.
